Travel guide of Mount ShastaAfter 10 hours of driving we rounded the last bend through the dense forests on the Washington-Oregon border. Suddenly Mt. Shasta appeared in front of us in all her glory, towering above the surrounding hills. The evening light cut low through the smoky air to create soft gradients and reduce the contrast or the lower mountain and foothills.

We were looking for a new route through Oregon to Portland from California that would not involve I-5. We left I-5 at Mount Shasta and headed toward the South Klamath basin. We were looking for migrating birds (and there were thousands), but as it was late, the light made it difficult for bird photography. But then we saw Mt. Shasta.........................the light was phenomenal! This is the result. The route from Mount Shasta, to the Klamath Basin , Crater Lake, Bend and Smith Rock is well worth the extra time it takes!

We caught one of the most incredible sunsets I’ve EVER taken in on this beautiful summer night. We ran quickly ran onto this bridge to catch the last glimpses of the sun as it went down. I saw Adrian leaning over the edge, staring into the beauty before him, and knew that I would fall in love with the photo. Boy, am I ever glad that I pressed the shutter when I did!

Quite possibly the clearest lake I’ve ever swam in. I could open my eyes and see 40ft down to the bottom.

We spent our honeymoon driving the California coast. This was one of our first stops at the Lady Bird Johnson redwood park. The day started with fog, and the lighting was amazing (this was around 1:00 pm). It fell perfectly on this bridge.

I can't remember the last time I saw the Pacific Ocean look so calm. This weathered and worn sea monolith is much bigger than it appears. This was captured with my drone on the Northern California coast. I love evenings at the Pacific Coast. You get these low-altitude sheets of clouds that roll in off the ocean that let the setting sun sneak through. I believe in the distance there’s another large sea monolith, which I didn’t notice until looking at this photo.

This strip of beach divides the salty Pacific Ocean from a freshwater lake, and looks pretty damn good while doing it. This was taken near the redwood forests in Northern, California, with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 and I used a 16-stop ND/PL filter to reduce the intense glare on the water.
